BLAST had freewill to invite Flyquest, wildcard invites don't have to follow VRS. They chose to invite Liquid from Asia so they could invite, I assume, Wildcard via NA. Don't blame Valve for BLAST's conscious choice to alienate the (real) Asian/OCE region.

Eligible, not required. They were also #1 in NA, so BLAST chose to invite them to Asia. Essentially they're saying they'd rather have Wildcard than Flyquest/an actual team who comes from and represents Asia. Liquid are 100% innocent in this, given no choice but to accept.
