The shortage of IGL's on a high level is still an issue for many teams. There is players who could transform into an IGL. But with a stats dominated scene, and the amount of pressure that follows to be the “captain” is not an attractive option for most people. Also in order to not burn out eventually, you need a certain type of “persona”. Naturally liking to take responsibility is key, which even further limits the pool of candidates.
